Okay let me share my embarrassing story, in the hope that others can avoid this same situation. Lets call it taking one for the team. I bought a Groupon voucher for IPL hair removal here. The service was not at all as advertised - the advertised "Brazillian" bikini (check wikipedia for clarification of its nature) constituted a few zaps with the IPL device around what could at best be described as a high bikini, and at worst having a mis-shapen triangle zapped into my nether regions. When I expressed my disappointment at the rather less comprehensive treatment than that which I was expecting, I was told to be grateful for what I received. This, the proprietress told me, was a very good offer. However "good" an offer she deemed it, this service was not what was advertised and was not what I had paid for. To achieve the full Brazillian look I was requested to pay a further £180 - twice the cost of the original Groupon voucher. She had to be joking? In addition to the false advertising, I found the proprietress to be rude and highly inappropriate. I felt uncomfortable from the moment I arrived for the treatment, and was relieved to get out of there when it was over. I was also left waiting outside the shop for 10 minutes before my appointment, with no acknowledgement that this was atypical, let alone an apology. The most embarrassing phone call of my life to explain my situation to Groupon - I'm assuming she realises most people will be too embarrassed to make the phone call - and I am awaiting a refund. I find it hard to offer this service even one star - and wouldn't if there were the option for none. From reviews on other sites that I have encountered, it seems there have been many complaints to Groupon about this service. Whatever you do, save your money, go elsewhere, buy an at home "do it yourself" device, anything... just don't go here!!
